Permit
You may not make an appointment for a permit test. They are given on a first come first serve basis. Show up at the driver exam station between 8:00 AM and 3:45 PM Monday thru Friday. Exams are NOT given on weekends or holidays. This information is changing rapidly, please see the link below for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety- Driver and Vehicle Services. *Since Covid, appointments have been required.
If you are under 18 you must be enrolled in a behind the wheel program and present your:
- Enrollment Card, also known as a blue slip
- Certified birth certificate
- Social Security card
Road Test
If you are going to take your road test, you must schedule your road test. You can do this online at www.mndriveinfo.org or call your nearest exam station to make an appointment.
You must present the following at the exam:
- Permit
- Certificate of Completion (white slip)
- Proof of insurance
- Your completed Driving Log
